Do you see “parts work” or Internal Family Systems as a step towards what you are suggesting?

Yes! This sounds very much inline with IFS. Ultimately it becomes about the relationship between the different parts and being conscious about which ones are given expression at any moment. Thank you!

Hello Kat - I am not so conversant with Internal Family Systems but it seems to me the principle is the same - there are different gods or archetypal structures or styles and tastes that are legitimate within their own right! In hillman language Apollo, Aphrodite/Venus, Hermes, and the Dionysian styles of consciousness all have a legitimae place within the boarding house of the 'psyche', for example, and maybe we can give a place to all of them rather than just one of them!
