Myth and Creativity with Catherine Svehla

In this episode of the podcast I am speaking with Catherine Svehla PhD about myth and creativity. Amongst other things we talk about how she became involved with myth, the need to create, how myths and old stories can inspire a creative process, myth as a central source of content for art, how we have been elaborating these myths for centuries, storytelling, myth as a deeper conversation with ourselves and our world, mythic sensibility, Joseph Campbell, and some thoughts from a woman’s perspective on the Hero’s Journey.

Catherine Svehla PhD is an independent scholar, storyteller and mentor of mythic life. She is also the creator of the Myth Matters Podcast at the Joseph Campbell Foundation.
