Catafalque with John Woodcock PhD

In this episode of the Podcast I am speaking with Jungian Psychotherapist John Woodcock about Peter Kingsley’s book Catafalque. Amongst other things we talk about some of his main influences and turning points, travelling to the US, beginning a Jungian analysis, the serpent dreams, initiatory ordeals, the spirit of the times and the spirit of the depths, then we get on to Catafalque, the pre-Socratic philosophers, Empedocles, Parmenides, mystics, prophetic visions, the link with Jung, The Red Book and Jung the mystic.

After travelling to the USA in 1979 John trained and practised as a Jungian or depth psychotherapist. He gained his PhD in 1999 (USA) before returning to Australia in 2003. Where he began a private practice in Sydney where he continues his work.
